US (SAVE THE POST OFFICE) : TRUMP'S ALLIES want to PRIVATIZE the USPS.

Save The Post Office Coalition

The United States Postal Service is being pushed to the edge, and the warning could not be clearer.

The Postmaster General has warned that without action from Congress, the Postal Service could run out of cash in 2027. That’s right, as soon as next year. Decades of bad policy decisions have drained billions from the system and locked the USPS into financial rules no business could survive under.

Congress created this crisis. In 2022, the Postal Service Reform Act was an important step in the right direction that ended requirements such as the pre-funding of retiree health benefits and restrictions on pricing and some service expansion. But the USPS is still restricted in how it can raise revenue, and blocked from modernizing the way any normal organization would.

Now there’s a real danger that damage will be used as an excuse to push privatization. Donald Trump and his allies have made it clear they want to hand over parts of the Postal Service to private corporations. That means higher prices, reduced service, and entire communities left behind.

It is time to completely untie the Postal Service’s hands and allow the agency to fully manage benefit and retirement funds, pension investments, and to extend the agency’s borrowing authority that hasn’t been adjusted for inflation since 1992. And Congress must reverse the law restricting the USPS from providing new services that could generate new streams of revenue. Removing these policy restrictions will allow the Postal Service to continue delivering our mail and serving the public effectively, saving the agency billions of dollars per year.

Tell Congress to save the Post Office, reverse bad postal policy, and stop privatization now.

If Congress does nothing, the consequences will hit fast and hard. Rural communities will lose reliable delivery. Small businesses will face higher costs. Seniors and veterans who depend on mail for prescriptions will be forced to pay more or go without.

The Postal Service was built to serve the entire country, not just the areas profitable to the corporate bottom line.

Privatization would turn critical public infrastructure into a corporate asset. Decisions would be made based on margins, not service. Prices would rise. Service would shrink. Workers would be pushed out in favor of cost cutting.

We have seen this playbook before. Break a public system, claim it is failing, then sell it off. That is exactly what is happening here.

Congress created this problem. Congress has the power to fix it. They can lift the restrictions, stabilize USPS finances, and reject any plan to privatize it. Sign and send your message now.

Together we can stop Trump's privatization plan.
