When Salam was born, his family discovered he had multiple serious health conditions. He later developed acute malnutrition and was frequently ill, struggling to gain weight as food became increasingly scarce.
Yasmin describes the impossible choices families faced: We would get a kilo of flour and divide it into three portions. We divided it into three portions just to ease our hunger, not enough to make us full. As Salam's condition worsened, Yasmin turned to a Save the Children-supported clinic for help. There, health workers monitored his condition, provided nutritional support and therapeutic food, and continued to follow his progress.
Slowly, Salam began to improve.
At first, his condition was difficult. He had acute malnutrition, but with follow-up care, thank God, his condition has improved.
But Salam's struggle isn't over.
He continues to face serious health challenges, and access to treatment remains difficult. Yasmin is doing everything she can to give her son a chance at a healthier future.
Today, families across Gaza continue to need healthcare, nutritional support, clean water and essential supplies.
Will you help children like Salam survive and recover?
