Trump’s latest executive order attack on vote by mail is rippling through the Postal Service right now – but there’s still time to stop it. The Postal Service’s proposed rule would basically create an illegal mail in ballot-access checkpoint to block anyone not on a voting age citizens list from the Department of Homeland Security. We absolutely will not trust the same agency responsible for ICE violence terrorizing communities and neighborhoods across the country, arresting and deporting U.S. citizens, and even killing at least two citizens in the streets of Minneapolis, to have any role what-so-ever in determining who gets to vote. And neither should the post office, whose core mission is public service. The USPS universal mandate requires the delivery of mail to every address in America, regardless of party, race, income, geography, disability, age, or citizenship status.
