Mahakam Ulu's vast forests provide critical habitat for Borneo's remarkable biodiversity. They have also been cared for by Dayak communities for generations. But these forests are under growing pressure. Across Kalimantan, industrial expansion and deforestation continue to threaten and fragment rainforest habitat. And as fires spread across the region, we're being reminded just how much is at stake when these forests disappear. Protecting endangered wildlife means protecting their home. That's why RAN works alongside Indigenous and frontline communities to defend forests, challenge the corporate interests driving rainforest destruction, and keep some of the world's most important remaining ecosystems standing.
