U.S : COPS SHOULD NOT BE ABOVE THE LAW !

Friend, Minnesota police shot and killed a 20 year old Black man, Daunte Wright, during a traffic stop over air freshener in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis. This unjust murder of another Black life happened less than 10 miles from the site of George Floyd’s murder trial. Even more maddening, the Brooklyn Center Officials are labeling the fatal shooting as an “accidental discharge” from what was meant to be a taser. The unnamed officer was placed on administrative leave.

We cannot allow another police officer to be mildly reprimanded for a senseless murder of an innocent Black life.

If we want real penalties and true accountability for our police departments, we must end biased police union contracts. Abusive police routinely hide behind their police unions to avoid punishments for their reckless and murderous actions.

Police accountability and defund organizers across the nation are working to combat state and local union contracts which make it nearly impossible to fire dangerous cops, or stop them from being rehired in other jurisdictions.

We must fight for these union contracts to end. Then we can begin to see justice for the lives cut short by police violence.
