South - Africa (ONLY ONE) : Save African Penguins from extinction 🐧

Hi,

The African Penguin is on the brink of extinction, with projections showing they could vanish from the wild within the next 10 years. Despite ongoing conservation efforts, the endangered bird is threatened by a shortage of the species’ main food sources — sardines and anchovies  — caused by climate change and competition with commercial purse-seine fishing. This scarcity of prey is leading to widespread starvation and a dramatic collapse in breeding numbers.

If we do not act now and current trends persist, the African Penguin could disappear by 2035. We need your help to change its story.

Sign the petition to urge the South African government to take swift actions to protect its African Penguin population before it’s too late.

The survival of this species is critical for several reasons. African Penguins are key indicators of the health of ocean ecosystems. Current no-take zones for commercial fishing around the last remaining African Penguin colonies do not adequately protect critical penguin feeding areas.

Sign the petition today to help preserve one of the world’s most threatened penguin species and maintain the health of our ocean for future generations.

Your voice is critical to driving meaningful change. Thank you for your support and commitment to this urgent cause.
