Mahakam Ulu — an ancient watershed in East Kalimantan, Indonesia — is home to Proboscis monkeys, clouded leopards, Bornean orangutans, and Irrawaddy river dolphins, numbering fewer than 2501 by some estimates. From elephants, tigers, and rhinos in the Leuser Ecosystem of North Sumatra, Indonesia to the giant river otters, tapirs, and the estimated 173,000 jaguars2 across the Amazon rainforest, countless species struggle to survive every day. Unique aquatic biomes are drying up. Lush tree canopies are disappearing. And climate change has contributed to harsher and increasingly irregular weather, where the hots are hotter and dry spells are longer. Thanks to folks like you, we are working tirelessly to prevent deforestation and climate change that makes a bad situation even worse. Donating gives us the resources we need to continue our work. It helps us support partners on the ground, plan our campaigns, and fight against the massive corporations behind these destructive and poisonous projects. Because we’re in the field doing research on the shadiest parts of the supply chain we have what it takes to win the fight against the businesses we expose. |
