BREAKING NEWS : Joe Biden just announced Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate for vice president !
Harris is making history as the first Black woman vice presidential nominee. She's a fearless debater and bold leader who would make a fantastic VP.
But now that the pick is official, Harris is sure to be the target of the most sexist, racist, bigoted assaults of any VP candidate in history--not just by Donald Trump, but by an entire network of powerful right-wing white supremacists on Fox News and talk radio who are desperate to keep Republicans in control of the White House. And we need to have her back.
Trump is lagging badly in the polls, so he's tried his usual tactics to improve his standing--calling Biden nicknames and making brazen racist appeals to his dwindling base.
But none of it's working, and he knows it. That's why Kamala Harris now has a huge target on her back.
Trump can channel all of his sexism and bigotry toward her. Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and the rest of the right-wing media will pile on, and so will a nationwide network of Koch-funded ultraconservative groups. There's no question Kamala Harris can run intellectual circles around Trump, Hannity, Mike Pence--the whole lot of them. But let's face it : that's not enough. If it was, Hillary Clinton would be president right now.
That's why we're launching a major counteroffensive right now to fight back. We're demanding that news outlets and other platforms enact policies against spreading racism, sexism, and misinformation. We're calling them out when they give oxygen to Trump's bigotry.
Finally, we're building a $50,000 chest to run ads to inoculate voters against the racist and sexist attacks that are heading Harris's way. That's where you come in.
