U.S (UltraViolet) : Join us in demanding BIG TECH remove all hateful and dangerous content featuring sexist deplatformed creators.

Dear friend,

A right-wing social media influencer is reaching millions of young men with his misogynistic videos that describe women as men's property, blame survivors of sexual assault, and promote violence against women.1

This appalling content is coming from self-described misogynist and social media influencer Andrew Tate, who's known for his multi-level marketing scheme "Hustler's University."2

Tate himself is banned from YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.3 But his business thrives because his fans continue to upload and share his content on their own social media accounts.

Deplatforming bad actors is an important first move, but we know that simply blocking one popular misogynist doesn’t stop that person’s message of hate, disinformation, sexism, and anti-Black rhetoric from thriving online. We need social media companies to create meaningful change by committing to deplatform bad actors AND remove hateful content online.

Despite promises to ban copycat and fan accounts, TikTok has yet to follow through.4 Neither Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, nor YouTube has commented or committed to eliminating content shared by Tate's followers.

When thousands have spoken out in the past, we've secured real victories; the platforms need to hear from all of us now. UltraViolet and our partners are demanding real action--which means not just banning bad actors and their associates, but better enforcement and expansion of hate and harassment policies. Sign the petition demanding that social media platforms deplatform bad actors AND halt hate speech that can lead to violence!

Tate is a symptom of the problem and an example of Big Tech's failure to address bad actors head on. Without meaningful changes, simply deplatforming Andrew Tate won't truly stop his and others' hateful rhetoric from thriving online and causing in-person violence like the January 6 insurrection.

We're done with letting platforms tiptoe around a problem they know how to fix ! Join us in demanding Big Tech remove all hateful and dangerous content featuring sexist deplatformed creators.

Thanks for fighting alongside us !
