U.S (NATIVE ORGANIZERS ALLIANCE ACTION FUND): Choose Compassion over Cruelty at the BORDER !

Friend,

The lack of a humane and systematic approach to migration there is a humanitarian crisis at the Mexico border. It is a direct result of U.S. policies that have fomented violence and displacement in Latin America for many decades. Whether by sending guns to El Salvador and Guatemala, intervening militarily in Haiti, or placing debilitating sanctions on Venezuela, the U.S. has had its thumb on the scales in every regional struggle faced by our relatives to the south.

Do we meet migrants and asylum seekers on the U.S.-Mexico border with the military or a fully staffed immigration apparatus ?

The Biden administration's plan to send an extra 1,500 armed troops instead of much-needed supplies will provide no sustenance or shelter to anyone. These families and children do not pose a military threat. Their situation is a humanitarian crisis, in many ways, due to the federal government’s inaction on immigration law reform.

People are fleeing violence and economic crisis at home, seeking safety and security for themselves and their families.

President Biden campaigned on a promise of decency and respect toward immigrant families, a striking contrast to the harsh family separation policies of his predecessor. Sign the petition now to remind him to stay true to his promises.

TAKE ACTION

People fleeing violence in their home countries must not be greeted by armed soldiers here.

We were here before these national borders. Besides Indigenous people and enslaved people, the rest of the U.S. is populated by migrants.

Our Native communities understand what it means to face violent oppression and military force at the hands of the U.S. government.

It is time for us to remind President Biden of his campaign promise and the importance of a system that treats asylum seekers and migrants with dignity and respect.

Sign now to tell President Biden: We must support people seeking refuge in the U.S., not attack them with military force. We call on you to make good on your campaign promises to advance a welcoming and inclusive vision for immigration.

Hawwih (“thank you” in Caddo) for including your voice among the many to stand up for compassion in alignment with our Indigenous values.

Executive Director.
