US (STOP THE MONEY PIPELINE) : Join us for this very special event.

I remember the day we launched Stop the Money Pipeline: Jan 20th, 2020. I was wearing a bright yellow hazmat suit, occupying a JPMorgan Chase branch in downtown Seattle. Nearly 3,000 miles away, Jane Fonda, Bill McKibben, Reverend Yearwood and others were getting arrested for their own act of civil disobedience in a Chase branch, next to the White House.

More than six years later, I’m writing today to invite you to our first ever online fundraising gala: Brighter Futures. It’s on Thursday, May 21st at 5 PM PT / 6 PM MT / 7 PM CT / 8 PM ET.

To kick off the event, we’ll have a live cello performance from the esteemed cello-playing activist, John-Mark Rozendaal. And we’ll hear from legendary movement leader, Bill McKibben, environmental justice warrior, Roishetta Ozane, and several of our organizers who are leading our work.

You’ll hear the inside scoop from our campaigns. Have a chance to participate in a live auction, where you can bid on movement art, signed copies of books from movement leaders, campaign merch, and other goodies. And if you donate enough money you’ll even get me to do a cartwheel and jump into a lake. Literally. It’s going to be a grand time.

RSVP here to save your spot at Brighter Futures – Stop the Money Pipeline’s first-ever fundraising gala.

Since our launch in 2020, so much has happened. We grew from a coalition of 30 organizations to one of more than two hundred and thirty. Working together, we pushed the Biden Administration to implement important pieces of financial regulation, and we fought tooth-and-nail to stop big banks funding the Line 3 pipeline.

In 2024, we shut down Citibank’s global HQ dozens of times – and the bank responded by committing to reducing its oil and gas financing. In 2025, we supported the Tesla Takedown campaign at a time when other organizations were running scared of being associated with it. In 2026, we’re still fighting to hold Musk accountable for his actions, supporting unionization efforts at Wells Fargo, and making huge strides to pass transformational legislation that would force insurance companies to stop backing fossil fuels.

Join us on Thursday May 21st for Brighter Futures – and help build the fighting movement we need to win.

In Solidarity,

- Alec Connon, Stop the Money Pipeline coalition director.
