It’s been a year since DOGE’s inception and the ripple effects continue. So many are feeling the impacts, including former federal workers who are still looking for work. Musk’s DOGE has left these workers struggling, with many who took major pay cuts after numerous federal agencies were gutted. Elon Musk promised DOGE would save U.S. taxpayers trillions, but in reality, federal spending went up. 300,000 public servants lost their jobs, leaving families overwhelmed with having to figure out how to pay their bills. And federal agencies were thrown into chaos, leaving critical public services in disarray. The American people deserve answers and we need elected officials to investigate these unjust firings. Tell your Member of Congress: Investigate DOGE. Federal workers lead critical work that affects our everyday lives. DOGE’s cruel mandate has crippled agencies like the Social Security Administration that services some of the most vulnerable populations: the elderly and people with disabilities. The understaffed agency has resulted in longer call wait times, longer wait times for appointments, and a growing backlog of hearings for individuals appealing the agency’s denial of their applications for disability benefits. Your leadership is crucial in demanding that our federal agencies be equipped with the proper resources to provide essential services. Our emergency weather services also took a hit following the mass firings at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA’s staff plays a crucial role in making climate assessments, providing us with weather forecasts, researching the ocean and our fisheries –– all vital public resources that we depend on. To this day, the agency has 20% fewer staffers and is in dire need of experts to continue their vital mission-driven work. We cannot allow the damage that DOGE created to happen again.
