U.S : The ULTRA-VIOLET's priorities for 2021; what do you think about ?

Dear friend,

We made it through an election season like no other. As we look ahead to the future, we want to take a moment to check in with you and find out where you want to take our movement next. UltraViolet is made up of more than 1 million incredible members like you across the country, fighting sexism everywhere--from your daily life, to national elections, to global corporations. Will you let us know where you want to go from here ?

As we face a new surge of the COVID-19 pandemic and prepare for the new Biden-Harris administration, what do you think we should do together next ?

Here's our proposal for priorities for 2021 :

  1. Bend the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to keep our loved ones alive and healthy, while also rebuilding an economy that ensures women are able to put food on their tables, and be home in time to eat it. This means bringing about an end to the COVID-19 pandemic through policy that prioritizes the needs of Black, Indigenous, and women of color in both ending the public health crisis and re-imagining an economy that works for women.
  2. Ensure that Black and Indigenous women, as well as women of color, can exist with dignity and have full access to reproductive health care, and free from state-sponsored violence and economic and social oppression. We will work to fight against white supremacist patriarchy through a robust set of policies that ends the war on Black, Indigenous, and women of color communities.
  3. Build a world beyond sexual violence, where all women can thrive. Following the lead of Black and Indigenous survivors, as well as survivors of color, we seek to reform not just our legal and health care systems, but society as a whole, to disrupt and end sexual violence, including sexual harassment.
  4. Ensure that women, and especially Black, Indigenous, and women of color, are able to fully engage in media conversations. By working to challenge white supremacist assumptions and policies that shape media coverage and social media platform operations, we are working to create media spaces where women can participate free from fear of gender and race-based attacks.

Do you agree that this is what you want to focus on with us or do you have more thoughts ?

I agree.

I have more thoughts.
