US (SAVE THE POST OFFICE) : Postmaster General STEINER wants the power to STOP BALLOT MAIL.

Save The Post Office Coalition

Postmaster General David Steiner said the quiet part out loud. Asked in Congress whether USPS would deliver ballot mail if states refused to comply with his demand for voter-level ballot data, Steiner answered: “Under our proposed regulation, no.”

Now after a Supreme Court decision added new chaos to the on going litigation, including on-again off-again injunctions and restraining orders, the week ended with Steiner’s USPS blocked from moving forward with its plan to implement Trump’s voter suppression scheme – for now.

Still PMG Steiner has gone ahead and put the machinery in place for the USPS to gatekeep federal ballots from certain voters, while Trump and his allies continue to try everything they can to attack mail-in voting and sow doubt and confusion. Steiner didn’t have to but he is pushing USPS ahead, deliberately finalizing the rule so USPS can spring into action if the courts give it the opportunity.

The USPS Board cannot sit quietly while Steiner turns the Postal Service into another weapon in Trump’s war on vote by mail. The Board hired him. The Board oversees the Postal Service. The Board can stop this voter suppression scheme before it’s too late. Sign and send your message demanding they rescind the rule and protect vote by mail now.

SIGN AND SEND

We spent years fighting Louis DeJoy because he slowed the mail and put votes at risk of missing election deadlines.

Steiner’s plan is even worse and more dangerous, potentially keeping millions of ballots from being delivered at all. That’s because Trump’s plan directs the Department of Homeland Security to compile citizenship lists using a system that has mislabeled eligible voters in the places already using it. In Boone County, Missouri, more than half of the voters initially flagged as ineligible turned out to be eligible. Texas election officials have uncovered errors across dozens of counties.

And Steiner didn’t have to do any of it right now. As Postmaster General he could’ve waited for a final decision by the court. Steiner made a deliberate choice.

Now the Board has a choice too. It can wait while Steiner prepares USPS to become a ballot gatekeeper for Trump’s voter suppression scheme, or it can defend the Postal Service’s public mission before more damage is done.

Tell the USPS Board of Governors: Let the post office do its job delivering the mail, not blocking the vote. Send your message now.

Together, we can keep the Postal Service out of Trump’s election interference schemes.
