We are training Black leaders in the digital tactics needed to protect the freedom to vote in this critical Presidential Election.
Help us stop racist voter suppression by the Right Wing and keep Trump out of the White House.
Dear friend,
Tuesday night, Donald Trump added to his lead in the delegate count and it is becoming increasingly likely that he will win the GOP nomination. If Donald Trump and his hateful agenda wins the Presidency, his path to the White House will include a well-worn strategy employed by the Republican Party to win elections: keep Black voters and their allies away from the polls.
But we have a plan to make every Black vote count. Leading up to November, we are training grassroots leaders in the digital and strategic communications skills needed to fight back against the dirty tricks used to keep Black people away from the polls. In battleground states with a high percentage of Black voters, this need is urgent. Will you contribute $3 to help us get training resources where they are most needed ?
For the past ten years, ColorOfChange has fought against aggressive attempts to silence Black voters and this year, as Trump leads the GOP field on a KKK-endorsed political agenda, we are prepared to fight even harder. This general election will be the first Presidential race in 50 years without the strong protections of the Voting Rights Act. Without the regulations that prevented states with a history of racially targeted voter discrimination from passing laws that attack Black people’s freedom to vote, we must equip Black Leaders with the digital and communications capacity needed to fight back and win.
From challenging discriminatory Voter ID laws and fighting for extended voting hours to restoring voting rights to ex-offenders, we are working with Black leaders in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia and Virginia to stop the Right Wing in their tracks. Black people, the elderly and students are being aggressively targeted by Voter ID laws— in Texas over 600,000 registered voters are impacted by discriminatory Voter ID laws. Texas is just one of several states where you can vote with a gun license, but not a student ID.
With your support, we can stop racism from winning in November.
Thank you,
Johnny, Rashad, Arisha, Hope, Yeshimabeit and the rest of the ColorOfChange team
