U.S : Mr. Trump goes to Washington.

Dear friend,

Today, Donald Trump—a man proudly endorsed by the KKK—goes to Washington to begin the transition of power and the implementation of a dangerous agenda. Many of us have long-feared this moment, which Black voters overwhelming rejected at the ballot box, along with the majority of voters who won the popular vote for Hillary Clinton. With Republicans now in control of all three branches of the federal government, and dominating state legislatures across the country, our progress and our freedom as Black people are now more vulnerable than ever.
We want you to know: we are here for you. We share your feelings of despair. But more importantly, we are going to be here to help you fight back against the right wing, and continue to fight for our freedoms, our lives and future.
In the coming weeks, Color Of Change PAC will host a series of events—both virtually and in-person—aimed at hearing from you, reflecting on what we must do differently, and sharing our plans for the smartest way forward. We are going to take back our communities, and wherever you are, you can be part of it.

Mr. Trump's dog-whistle fueled candidacy has re-exposed deep divisions in American's collective vision for this country by overtly leveraging racist, sexist and xenophobic rhetoric and policies as a means to gain political power.
At Color Of Change PAC we've been outspoken about what was at stake in this election and the dangers of a Trump presidency - a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, the continued roll back of the Voting Rights Act, cuts to the social safety net and an expansion of a mass incarceration pipeline that is already too full to withstand.
This election proves that when Black people and other people of color are attacked, all progressives are made vulnerable. But we will not concede. We will not give up the fight to build independent Black political power — the kind of power that shifts from visibility and presence to actual leverage over decision makers.
While we must mourn and reflect on the institutional barriers that have left so many people in fear of what's to come, it is clear that racial justice and progressive institutions too must change the way we approach our work. We, too, must transition.

Until Justice is Real,

Rashad Robinson
