More than 1 million Palestinians have been displaced, and the Israeli military under Netanyahu's extreme party continues to bomb and starve millions of people trapped in Gaza. All with the backing of the U.S. government. So many deaths and so much violence with no clear end.

Americans have been rising up to say : We cannot be complicit in this violence. More progressive members of Congress have co-sponsored our Ceasefire Now Resolution calling for humanitarian aid to Gaza and an immediate ceasefire.

But our government’s leaders continue to dehumanize Palestinians and encourage the Israeli military’s relentless bombing of Gaza.

The Biden administration is failing to protect Palestinian Americans like my constituent Zakaria, who is trapped in Gaza and is heartbroken because he feels like his country has abandoned him and his family.

We must do everything we can to bring all families home safely, and to protect everyone in the region no matter their faiths or ethnicities.
