RANDAY is on the horizon! (RAINFOREST ACTION NETWORK).

 

Dear friend, RANday, our annual day of giving and impact, is on March 19th! This month, we’re highlighting Rainforest Action Network’s history of grassroots organizing and the people that make it possible. That means the organizers and staff at RAN, the members of partner organizations and communities working to save our shared planet, and the people who lend their voices and efforts both online and on the ground. Grassroots means YOU! RAN couldn’t exist without supporters like you, friend. Every campaign and every win begins with you. Last year, for our 40th anniversary, our supporters helped us reach an incredible goal: $40,000 for our inaugural giving day. The strength of this campaign allowed us to organize actions and publish crucial research on the banks and brands destroying our planet. This year, we’re hoping our network will help raise $20,000 — and a generous group of donors will TRIPLE every gift from now until midnight on RANday! If we succeed, we’ll set a new precedent for what is possible when we work together! We’re also using this time to highlight some of the movement tactics and experiences that make up our winning strategy: This week, we’re providing a detailed overview of our Day of Action against Oreo, which took place earlier this month. As a supporter, you know that Oreo’s parent company, Mondelēz, has ties to deforestation in critical rainforest habitat. With your help, months of sustained collective pressure against this major snack foods brand culminated in simultaneous protest actions in multiple cities, along with a major social media campaign. We’ll be giving you a look into how, with your direct support, we leverage our power as activists against these mega-corporations. Next week on our Instagram, you’ll be able to hear from some of our staff members: the people who are making change possible, both on the frontlines and behind-the-scenes. We’ll talk about some of our experiences and about what grassroots activism means to us.
