US (SAVE THE POST OFFICE via AMERICANS FOR FINANCIAL REFORM) : This could affect whether VOTES are counted...

Save The Post Office Coalition

Friend,

Across the country, voters are being put in an impossible position, where they can follow every rule, meet every deadline, and still have their ballot rejected for reasons completely outside of their control.

That is a direct consequence of changes inside the Postal Service.

Ballots that were once processed quickly in local facilities are now routed through large regional hubs, often hundreds of miles away, sometimes even crossing state lines before they are even postmarked. Postmarks are the standard used by election officials to verify that a ballot was sent on time, and when those postmarks are delayed, ballots that should count suddenly become vulnerable to rejection.

We are already seeing the consequences of this shift in elections. Election officials have reported spikes in ballots rejected due to late postmarks.

We’re working non-stop to pressure the USPS to fix this. Not next year. Not after the midterms. Right now. Rush a donation and fund this fight now!

Chip in Now

The Postal Board of Governors oversees the Postal Service and has the authority to address these delays, communicate clearly to the public for election mail, and ensure that ballots are processed and postmarked without unnecessary delay.

Congress can act to double down on our public pressure to get the USPS to act.

That’s why we have a multipronged strategy to fight back and protect Vote by Mail.

What history has shown us, time and time again, is that this kind of action does not happen without sustained public pressure. When previous changes threatened election mail, it was not quiet internal review that fixed the problem. It was public outrage, grassroots organizing, direct pressure on decision-makers, and lawsuits that forced intervention and protected voters.

The same dynamic applies here. The Board will not act unless they are made to feel the urgency and scale of what is at stake.

That is why we’re running a national push to demand immediate action. We are organizing supporters, raising awareness, and pushing the Postal Board to end delays that have already cost some people their vote because they thought they had put their ballot in a USPS blue box on time.

This work requires resources to reach people, amplify the issue, and maintain the kind of pressure that decision-makers cannot ignore. Please make a contribution to fund the fight to protect Vote by Mail now.

Let's make sure that the Board of Governors hears us loud and clear, saying: Act now and protect election mail.
