New polls from YouGov confirm what we really already knew : most Americans support raising taxes on billionaires.
Since the start of the pandemic, inequality and the massive wealth gap in this country have become so self-evident that the solution is clear : Congress needs to increase taxes on billionaires.

Where to even begin with this ? First of all, billionaire wealth is estimated to have increased 62% since the start of the pandemic. Compare that to the immeasurable economic pain experienced by most Americans in that same timespan. It’s sickening.
These billionaires are scheming hoarders, amassing unfathomable wealth by avoiding taxation and regulation. Most people are noticing. According to the same YouGov poll, only one in four Americans believe that billionaires pay the full amount of taxes they owe.
Shoring up exploitable loopholes is a great place to start, but an across the board increase to the amount of taxes these plutocrats pay is the only true solution. This isn’t radical, billionaires paid right around an 8% federal income tax rate. That’s less than what most ordinary Americans pay !
It is long past time for the wealthiest Americans and big corporations to pay their fair share of taxes. When they take unfair advantage of the many loopholes in the tax code, the rest of us are forced to pick up the tab.
That’s why it’s time to tax those massive earnings once and for all.
