Did you know that travel companies, Expedia and Choice Hotels, are partnering with a toxic bank? They’ve partnered with one of the worst financiers of the climate crisis: Wells Fargo.  Take action now: Tell Expedia and Choice Hotels to drop Wells Fargo and choose a credit card partner that aligns with their stated values. If companies stop partnering with toxic banks, this will be a major financial blow to the banking sector. But the only way companies like Expedia and Choice Hotels will act is if they hear from thousands of people like you. Some of examples of Wells Fargo’s toxic fossil fuel financing: Provided $4 billion to Enbridge, which is pushing the Rio Bravo Pipeline through the ancestral lands of the Carrizo-Comecrudo Tribe of Texas, without their consent Bankrolling fracking and LNG expansion projects in Texas and Louisiana, financing Diamondback Energy to the tune of $3.9 billion in 2024 alone Wells Fargo is the only global bank that has completely dropped its Net Zero by 2050 climate targets Despite all of this, Expedia and Choice Hotels continue to partner with Wells Fargo through co-branded credit cards. And now we know – there are better, greener credit card options for large companies like Expedia and Choice Hotels (read the Better Options report here). Out of the 20 largest credit card issuers in the United States, eight credit card companies have not provided any large-scale fossil fuel lending or underwriting. It’s simple: companies who care about the climate and protecting frontline communities should not be partnering with banks that are funding community and climate destruction.
