U.S (HIP HOP CAUCUS) : End these predatory colleges !

Friend, the fight for climate justice continues.

I’m one of the 66% of Black student debt holders who owe more than what they originally borrowed, many after years of repayment1.

For years, our leaders have stood by and allowed predatory colleges to take advantage of Black and Brown borrowers – capitalizing on our ambition to achieve higher education. This is a fundamentally broken system fueled by predatory institutions who lied about their job placement rates and return on investment.

For-profit colleges account for over 30% of student loan defaults, destroying credit and entrenching generational poverty. We as a society encourage people to sacrifice to get the best possible education, and yet still allow for-profit institutions to cause widespread damage.

For years, these institutions have targeted Black and Brown communities with misleading advertising campaigns designed specifically to target us. And if our leaders don’t send a powerful message, they’ll continue to profit from their higher education scams.

We’re aiming for at least 5,000 people to help support this grassroots coalition – will you be one of them?
