U.S (MAKE THE ROAD NEW YORK) : See our vision of a caring and compassionate NYC !

We are excited to share Futures NYC! This is a new and inspiring initiative that blends art with policy.
Last week, we held a press conference at City Hall Park with VOCAL-NY and Hester Street to announce the launch of our new art-driven initiative, Futures NYC.

Dear friend,

We are excited to share Futures NYC ! This is a new and inspiring initiative that blends art with policy.

Check out the Futures NYC website to see our vision of a caring and compassionate New York City!

We are thrilled to work with Hester Street and Voices of Community Activists & Leaders (VOCAL-NY) on this initiative, which uses art to provoke conversation and incite action on the issues that matter most to New Yorkers—access to care, housing, and safer communities.

Through the lens of artists from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, the art in Futures NYC, which includes animation, illustrations, and poetry, highlights some of the city’s most pressing problems—and shows us that a better future is possible.

With this initiative, we urge New York City Council to :

● Ensure that our city creates pathways to permanent housing for all New Yorkers who need it, not just create new shelters or move people off our subways and streets.

● Divest from the harmful policing tactics that criminalize the most vulnerable New Yorkers, and create a non-police street outreach team that is trained to work with those in crisis.

● Guarantee care for all that need it by making services accessible, affordable, and equitable.

Help us make a caring and compassionate New York City a reality. Check out our Futures NYC website today to learn more!

For years, art has played a key role in some of our City’s most transformative protests, movements, and policies. We know it is going to take creative, bold ideas to shape a better New York City for all of us. And Futures NYC does just that.

¡Sí se puede!
