The so-called CLARITY Act is a bill written by crypto lobbyists that would put our entire financial system at risk. And if the Senate doesn’t stop it, it will open the floodgates for Trump’s personal crypto empire and every scammer in the industry to run wild. It hands crypto firms exactly what they want in the form of deregulation, near zero accountability, and a Congressional seal of approval that gives all sorts of scammy coins the appearance of legitimacy. If passed, it will threaten financial stability, national security, and essential investor protections. Already, Trump’s relatives are actively using their political power to pump their own crypto products, and if the CLARITY Act passes they can keep doing it with impunity. There’s no robust oversight in this bill, no real guardrails, and no meaningful consequences for fraud. It’s a dream come true for crypto billionaires and fraudsters, and a ticking time bomb for the rest of us. The bottom line is that if this bill passes, it could very well unleash crypto chaos across the economy, destabilizing retirement accounts, inviting money laundering, and forcing the public to foot the bill when the next FTX explodes. Congress needs to wake up. Tell the Senate to reject the CLARITY Act and stop Trump and the crypto lobby from legalizing fraud.
Not only did the crypto industry write this bill, they also bought the campaign to pass it. Over $265 million in Super PAC money is flooding D.C., while the people who stand to lose the most, working families, retirees, and public-sector workers, are being kept in the dark. This bill is designed to confuse the public while inviting disaster. It weakens enforcement, expands exemptions, and guts the tools regulators need to protect us from fraud and collapse. Unsurprisingly, Trump’s family is deeply entangled in crypto profiteering, using their White House ties to boost their personal coin holdings, push shady projects, and position themselves to cash in if Congress blesses this scheme. Thank you for standing up to Trump’s crypto racket and demanding real oversight. Mark. Mark Hays (he/him)
