Friend, The United States Postal Service is headed toward a financial crisis that could cause our mail delivery to stop as soon as February next year. The Postmaster General has warned that without congressional action, the USPS could run out of cash. Years of harmful postal policy has restricted the Postal Service and left it slowly strangulating as mail volume has declined and unable to pivot by expanding new services to generate revenue and serve communities. Now, there’s a real danger that Trump and his allies will use this crisis to push privatization. If they succeed, it will mean higher costs, or worse – cutting service, leaving entire communities behind. Rural areas will be hit hardest. Small businesses will pay more. Millions of people like seniors and veterans who rely on the Postal Service every day as their lifeline will feel the impact.
The Postal Service is not supposed to be a profit machine. It is a lifeline for communities across the country. Thank you for taking action to keep the USPS from going broke because Congress refused to act. Annie and the Save the Post Office Team.
