that weaken oversight, strip away consumer protections, and legitimize a
financial system riddled with scams, conflicts of interest, and instability.
On the other side are consumer advocates, labor groups, civil rights
organizations, and grassroots supporters like you who believe the
financial system should work for people, not crypto oligarchs. Americans
for Financial Reform is helping lead that coalition, exposing the risks of
these bills and organizing the public pressure needed to stop them.
And here is the most important fact. We have already proven that this works.
Last year, grassroots pressure helped stop versions of these crypto
bills three different times. Lawmakers heard from thousands of people
demanding real protections, and the industry’s wish list stalled in
Congress.

supposed to oversee.
This push is backed by enormous political spending and amplified by
Trump and his allies, who are actively pushing Congress to move
quickly on legislation that would benefit the crypto industry while
exposing consumers and investors to new risks.
That is why AFR is going all in. We are briefing lawmakers and
their staff, coordinating with a nationwide coalition of advocates,
exposing the dangers of these bills in the press, and mobilizing
grassroots pressure to stop them before they become law.
