Dear friend,
A disturbing exposé by a top trade magazine revealed that, for decades, Nintendo of America--the American subsidiary of the well-known Japanese multinational video game company Nintendo--profited by exploiting women contractors.
Women contractors were paid less than men, suffered widespread sexual harassment, and were frequently passed up for full-time positions in favor of men.1 Sign the petition demanding that Nintendo of America overhaul its sexist workplace!
The women workers described the working environment at Nintendo of America as a "frat house," in which they endured sexist jokes, were pressured to ignore unwanted sexual advances and comments, and received unequal pay for the same work done by men. This continued even after the corporation was made aware of the problem!2
Nintendo of America is far from the only workplace to have a sexual abuse problem. But as we've seen in other male-dominated workplaces like the NFL and Hollywood, acknowledging the problem is the first step towards making change.
Sign the petition demanding that Nintendo of America overhaul its sexist workplace culture and end pay discrimination and sexual harassment.

Nintendo of America is the only gaming company that relies on contractors to test games, which costs less and helps the company pad its profits. But only 10% of these testers are women, and very rarely are they promoted to full-time jobs.3,4
The gaming contractor that Nintendo of America uses, Aston Carter, formerly known as Aerotek, has had a revolving door of women workers and is named in a number of sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits.5 But despite the damning evidence of sex discrimination and sexual harassment by Aston Carter, Nintendo of America still contracts with the company.
Only 37% of Nintendo of America's salaried employees are women, and less than a quarter of Nintendo's managers are women globally.6
Nintendo of America must take tangible actions to rid its workplace of sex discrimination and abuse. Nintendo of America must and can be held accountable.
The UltraViolet community is demanding that Nintendo of America hire a third-party investigator to audit all of its workplace practices--including use of contractors--and to make the results public.
We will deliver our demands and petition signatures to Nintendo of America. Add your name, so that your signature is included!
Thank you for doing right by women workers !
