This
past Wednesday, members of the harm reduction community and those
impacted by the overdose crisis gathered across the state of New York
on International Overdose Awareness Day. VOCAL-NY helped organize events in Albany, New York City, and Rochester to
honor the lives lost and urge lawmakers to use evidence based solutions
to intervene in the rising rate of overdoses. No matter the city, the
demand was the same: Governor Hochul must use an executive action
immediately to authorize Overdose Prevention Centers (OPCs) across the
state and save lives. |
