On
Tuesday, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, VOCAL-NY organized a
Decolonizing Thanksgiving event
to share food and ideas. Community members packed a room to talk
about the lies we've been taught about colonization, about the
corrupt system we all live under, and how that's caused suffering, pain,
trauma for our people and our planet. The conversation also included
what's next: how to raise hell, fight back, and build community.
VOCAL-NY
has open positions for dynamic individuals who are committed
to building power among low-income people directly impacted by HIV/AIDS,
the drug war, mass incarceration, and homelessness.
