community service program shines a light on the disproportionate rate at
which Black women are locked up and what they need for a successful

Echoes of Historic Montgomery Bus Boycott Reverberate Today
It took collective action to force a change in Montgomery, Alabama’s
segregated seating on public buses more than 60 years ago. The historic
bus boycott, launched Dec. 5, 1955, after Rosa Parks refused to give up
her seat, catapulted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to leadership in the
Civil Rights Movement. Fast forward to today and Color Of Change, the
nation’s largest online civil rights and racial justice organization,
has made a difference in communities across the nation thanks to
