Dear friend,
Abortion rights will be back at the Supreme Court on March 4, 2020, with the June Medical Services v. Gee case--and make no mistake, the Louisiana law at issue is part of an ongoing, nationwide effort to legislate abortion out of existence.1 NOW is the time to mobilize and show the Supreme Court that the eyes of the country are watching and that we demand the court stop these unconstitutional laws.
This case challenges a Louisiana clinic shut-down law that would force all but one of Louisiana's remaining abortion clinics to close and leave just one doctor to provide abortion care for the 1 million Louisianians of reproductive age who may need it.2 The Supreme Court ruled that an identical law was unconstitutional in 2016, but here we are again.3
On Thursday, January 30, from 7 : 30pm to 8 : 30 pm ET (6 : 30 - 7 : 30 CT / 5 : 30 - 6 : 30 MT / 4 : 30 - 5 : 30 PT), UltraViolet and the Center for Reproductive Rights will host a webinar about June Medical Services v. Gee. On this webinar you will :
- Hear from the hero administrator of the Shreveport, La., abortion clinic challenging this harmful law;
- Learn about the case and why it matters from the brilliant legal team working to protect legal abortion for all; and
- Find out how you can take action to protect abortion access at the court and around the country.
Thanks for taking action !
