With surgical precision, they have cut our districts to elevate the voices of right-wing voters and silence Democrats and communities of color. The result is that your vote might not count the way you think it does. Our political system is broken. And the fight to fix it is now. Take action by signing the NDRC's petition to demand that every vote is counted equally. A democracy relies on everyone having an equal say. And when gerrymandering skews the playing field, the results can be shocking : In 2018, Democrats won 49% of the vote in North Carolina, but only 23% of the congressional seats. Every voter should be heard. Every vote should have equal weight. But with manipulated maps it doesn't work out that way. Thankfully, our chance to fix manipulated maps is just around the corner ! In 2021, our congressional and legislative districts will be redrawn, giving us the chance for a clean slate.
