Friend,   Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz returned to the company specifically to break Starbucks Workers United, which has successfully won union votes in over 200 Starbucks stores over the past year. Schultz says he has no plans to ever negotiate in good faith with the Starbucks Workers United union. He’s offered to raise the pay of non-union workers without offering the same to unionized workers while also refusing to provide benefits. Starbucks has fired more than 70 union organizers and closed recently unionized stores. Each of these actions is a clear retaliatory act against the more than 200 recently unionized Starbucks stores across the country. Starbucks is also currently the defendant in a case brought by the National Labor Relations Board, which accused the company of more than 200 unfair labor violations. Starbucks thinks they can break labor law with impunity. Congress needs to haul Schultz to Washington and force him to testify about his lawbreaking.
