Un poème de François TEYSSANDIER (France) sur LES MORTS...

Les morts tu voudrais
Les emporter avec toi

Mais tes poches
Sont trop petites

Pour contenir
Toutes leurs vies

Qui se sont achevées
Dans un dernier souffle de lumière

Alors que le soir n'avait
Pas encore allumé les lampes

De ta maison errant à l'aventure
Sur les plages désertes du silence.

François TEYSSANDIER.

Un poème de Patricia LARANCO (Moris/France), QU'ONT LES VILLES A OFFRIR ?...

Qu'ont les villes à offrir
sinon

Can you chip in to stop BAYER-MONSANTO's "get out of jail free" law ? (EKO).

Bayer-Monsanto is bleeding money. It’s already paid out

$10 BILLION to settle lawsuits alleging that Roundup caused cancer

and other diseases, with thousands more cases pending.

Desperate, the pesticide giant has launched a new strategy to protect

its profits : lobby governments to pass laws shielding it from more

of these lawsuits.

A law in the U.S. state Missouri could get a vote any day with

similar laws being considered in other states. If it passes, we bet

Bayer-Monsanto will push for governments in Europe and beyond

to do the same. We urgently have to stop them – and here’s how.

If we can quickly raise enough, we’ll unleash a massive

lobbying effort of our own, shining a light on what’s

happening behind closed doors so elected officials can’t

get away with passing these shady laws to protect

Bayer-Monsanto.

Can you chip in to stop Bayer-Monsanto's ‘get out of jail

free’ law ?

Bayer’s CEO recently lamented that all the litigation is “a huge

burden” on its profits. So now the pesticide giant is quietly using

its influence to convince lawmakers to pass laws to let them off

the hook.

The proposed law in Missouri would shield companies from

lawsuits for failing to warn that its pesticides could cause cancer,

so long as the product is approved and abides by the labeling

regulations specified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Letting a law like this pass could set off a domino effect across

the country and beyond, effectively giving Bayer a get out of

jail free card for thousands of lawsuits.

We have to fight back with a major lobbying effort of our

own, or Bayer could quietly push through these shady laws

– wiping out years of work by our movement and so many others.

Our almost 23 million person strong movement is perfectly poised

to expose this latest strategy, and unleash a flurry of pressure

in US statehouses not used to attracting worldwide media

attention.

URGENT : Massacre in Gaza (EKO).

UBS’ shares in Israel’s biggest weapons manufacturer, Elbit Systems, just increased by 875%. This comes as the world’s biggest bank, JPMorgan Chase, just divested huge amounts from Elbit.

Let’s build on this momentum and tell UBS to divest too.

Global bank UBS increased its shares in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons maker, by a staggering 875% in the first quarter of this year.

Whilst UBS lines its pockets, the Israeli military has surrounded and is attacking Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of terrified Palestinians are sheltering. The Israeli military just bombed a safe zone, killing at least 45 people, most of them women and children. This comes after it hit Kamal Adwan Hospital with missiles and attacked Gaza's largest refugee camp, Jabalia, killing children.

The bloodshed must stop.

Public pressure works: the biggest bank in the world, JPMorgan Chase, just divested 70% of its holdings in Elbit. Now it’s time for UBS to stop profiting from bloodshed.

Tell UBS: divest from Elbit Systems now.

UBS was founded in Switzerland but it needs to stop hiding behind this neutral facade. UBS’ money is funding weapons for the Israeli Government’s genocide.

At least 35,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military since October 7 last year. Children in Gaza are already dying from malnutrition and the United Nations just suspended food distribution in Rafah because the Israeli military and settlers are preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza.

Call on UBS to cut off the money for Israel’s weapons.

The Ekō community has helped cut off funding for weapons before. When we published a report exposing global insurance company AXA’s financial connections it dropped its shares in Elbit. And after we revealed Scotiabank was pouring hundreds of millions into Elbit, the Canadian bank drastically reduced its stake in the weapons company too.

Let’s do it again.

Thanks for all that you do,

Nish and the team at Ekō.
