Wednesday, January 19th @ 11AM : VOCAL-NY Legislative Advocacy Day : It has been almost a year and a half since our last trip to Albany, and although we never stopped fighting for our community, we know the best place to make our voices heard is in the halls of the Capitol ! Week in Review.

On Friday, Governor Hochul called up a number of bills to consider signing, one of them being the Prior Authorization bill VOCAL-NY has spent years fighting for. If signed, this bill would end the two-tiered treatment system Cuomo created and remove barriers to lifesaving medications for low-income New Yorkers. Governor Hochul has already taken steps to turn the tide on preventable overdoses (something her predecessor refused to do), and we hope to see this final legislative priority from the 2021 session signed.
