U.S : These Black mothers need your help now.

Dear friend,

This Mother’s Day, we’re doing something we’ve never done before : we’re throwing the first-ever Color Of Change Community Baby Shower for underserved Black mothers in New Orleans.

Color Of Change has teams across America fighting for justice in their neighborhoods--including our New Orleans team who is hosting a brunch to not only honor the resilience of Black mothers in New Orleans, but to make sure they have important resources like bottles, diapers, wipes, and toiletries to greet their new babies. Please give $15 right now to help us purchase baby supplies, cater a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch, and support as many Black mothers as we can this Mother’s Day!

It’s no secret that Black women face unique challenges in our motherhood journeys-- from skyrocketing Black maternal mortality rates to disproportionate sexual violence, underemployment and other systemic barriers that keep us from living our most full and vibrant lives.1,2 And at Color Of Change, our movement is powered by Black mothers. Last year, over 15,000 of our members--primarily Black women and mothers brunched and took action on the issues that deeply impact their communities. At the Color Of Change Community Baby Shower, we’ll not only be supplying Black mothers with baby care essentials but inviting them into our community of love and support so they don’t have to spend this Mother’s Day alone.

Imagine a world where all Black mothers can greet their newborn babies without fear of exorbitant medical bills or childcare costs. A world where Black mothers are heard and trusted by medical professionals and treated like human beings by their employers. A world where our physical and mental health is valued and cherished. Can you picture that ? Black women are the spirit and joy of this country and Color Of Change is doing all we can to directly support the beautiful mothers and babies in our community.

Until justice is real,

Jade, Kwesi, Shannon, Dominique, Daniel, Quiana, Sadie, Corina, Ariana, Imani, Scott, Daniel and the Color Of Change team
