U.S ( MAKE THE ROAD NEW YORK) : support our efforts to ensure IMMIGRANT HEALTH CARE ACCESS !

Billboards with our Coverage For All messages at Exit 3 on I-787, a common route for State Capitol visitors. A second billboard is on New Main Street in Yonkers near the Senate Majority Leader’s office.

Dear friend,

Everyone deserves access to healthcare but in New York more than 150,000 low-income immigrants don’t have access to coverage.

Our members, together with the Coverage for All Coalition, immigrants across the state, health advocates, health plans, the NYS business council and providers, are calling for the immediate expansion of health insurance coverage for all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status.

Donate to support our efforts to ensure immigrant health care access!

As I wrote in this opinion piece, alongside Assembly woman Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, the pandemic has made clearer than ever the deadly consequences of so many New Yorkers being forced to live without health insurance. More than 8,200 New Yorkers died from COVID-19 due to a lack of health coverage, an estimated 2,700 of them were undocumented.

We’re calling on Governor Hochul and the legislature to include Coverage for All in the state budget to create a state-funded health coverage option for New Yorkers with income up to 200% of the federal poverty line, regardless of immigration status.

Tha day before yesterday we traveled to Albany, with our partners in the Coverage for All Coalition and organized a vigil and march to remind state leaders of the lives that continue to be at stake.

Help us pass Coverage for All legislation by supporting our organizing efforts leading up to the State Budget deadline in April.

All New Yorkers deserve access to healthcare ! With Coverage for All, that could be a reality this year.

In solidarity,
