Afghanistan (U.S.A FOR UNHCR) : how families are coping after the earthquake.

Last month, the ground shook and buildings crumbled in Afghanistan. A deadly earthquake hit the Paktika and Khost provinces — nearly 770 people have been confirmed dead and many more wounded.

In these remote areas, families needed help. Entire homes were lost and dear family members were gone in an instant. They needed basic supplies like shelter and food, hygiene kits for women and a soft place to rest for children.

But because of this compassionate community, UNHCR responded immediately and remains on the ground providing assistance to the survivors of this deadly natural disaster.

11,200 people have received tents, blankets, solar lamps and more to protect them from the elements and meet their immediate lifesaving needs.
