Friend, Like many of you, we’ve watched in horror as the Supreme Court’s recent slate of decisions has threatened to separate citizens from rights that are truly fundamental. And in the days that have passed since then, we’ve watched as elected officials failed to respond in kind and use their constitutional powers to protect the rights of their constituents. We’ve taken the time to process, grieve, and regroup—but now, it’s time to fight back. Our rights and freedoms are more than pawns in partisan games, which is why we’re calling on Congress to protect them to the fullest extent. Sign on: tell Congress to preserve our rights and freedoms! SIGN YOUR NAME There’s a reason this country’s Declaration of Independence was built on the inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We deserve the freedom to vote, the freedom to control our own bodies, the freedom to have clean air and water in our communities, and the freedom to love who we choose out loud. Hip Hop Caucus is asking the people we voted into office to save our Democracy to prove they’re ready to reject the bias and white supremacy entrenched in our current system. They can’t continue to place faith in a system that was never designed to protect us, so we’re calling on them to take proactive measures to protect the freedoms we deserve. Join Hip Hop Caucus in demanding our elected leaders ensure all power remains with the people. Sign on and tell Congress to preserve and expand our rights and freedoms! Rev Yearwood. President & CEO Hip Hop Caucus. |
