The Associated Press declared that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are heading to the White House !
Finally ! Our work over the last four years has paid off. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris could not have won without women across the nation, starting with Black, Indigenous, and women of color, building toward this moment for the past four years and beyond.
Kamala Harris is the first woman, first Black woman, and first Indian-American to be elected as Vice President of the United States. This is a truly historic moment.

We could not have done it without the UltraViolet community, who have been an active part of the resistance since day one. During this election, many of us voted, made phone calls, sent text messages, wrote letters, donated, and drove people to the polls. We also organized to hold the media and social media platforms accountable, to ensure that the election coverage was fair. And, we pushed back on disinformation attacks aimed at Harris and other women of color running for political office.
Women fueled the movement to kick Donald Trump out of the White House. And now, we will ensure that this new administration prioritizes the needs of all women across the United States.
Today, tomorrow, and this weekend, we will take time to celebrate our hard work. But make no mistake : We must quickly get back to work, because Trump is just a symptom of larger problems in our country. We must all work together for COVID-19 relief, to fight the rise of white supremacy and the attacks on our reproductive freedom, and so much more.
However, this victory is a clear sign that the tide is turning. The late Shirley Chisholm said, "If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair." This election, tens of millions of women brought folding chairs, and are now working together to build a bigger table.
