The For the People Act is the Civil Rights Fight of this Era !     As the United States experiences a surge in voter suppression efforts primarily targeting Black, brown, and poor voters, the Senate Republicans used the filibuster to block debate on the most sweeping voting rights bill considered by Congress in decades, the For the People Act.

We Need Sen. Schumer to Turn Up the Heat

Democrats like Sen. Manchin Are Complicit           While Republican leadership continues to be the primary barrier to passage of the greatest civil rights legislation of this era, Democrats like Senator Joe Manchin must be held accountable for his role in creating barriers to ensuring racial justice at the polls.   We need a united Democratic Party, beyond politics, and we need to seize this moment to protect democracy for generations. If prominent democrats like Senator Manchin continue to prevent us from building the momentum we need to pass the For the People Act, perhaps their powers in the Senate should be stripped.
