Week In Review.

This past Tuesday, New Yorkers turned out for primary elections across the state. Although many races in New York City are still awaiting results of ranked choice voting, there were several newsworthy races across the state.    India Walton, a democratic socialist, beat out a long-time incumbent in Buffalo’s mayoral race. VOCAL-NY team members Kim Smith and Stanley Martin were both elected to the Rochester City Council, after campaigning on a caring and compassionate platform. And in Albany, three candidates -- Sergio Adams, Gabriella Romero, and Meghan Keegan -- who vowed in earlier this month to open Overdose Prevention Centers in the capitol region.   We're proud to have hosted several candidate forums, written voter guides, and encouraged New Yorkers to make their voices heard in the voting booth this election cycle.
