Join us this Wednesday, January 27th at 5:30PM for the #VOCALvaccinated town hall. A safe and judgement free space to ask questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, and how to access it. We will be joined by respected social justice and harm reduction doctors, Kim Sue and Oni Blackstock.
If you have no questions or concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine, but you're fired up for the fight to end mass incarceration and abusive law enforcement, join register for our Manhattan District Attorney Candidate Forum, also on Wednesday, January 27th at 5:30PM. We'll be joined by Manhattan candidates: Tahanie Aboushi, Alvin Bragg, Liz Crotty, Tali Farhadian Weinstein, Diana Florence, Lucy Lang, Eliza Orlins, and Dan Quart. VOCAL-NY is committed to ensuring our community receives quick-and-easy access to the COVID-19 vaccine, and that their questions are answered. Long waiting lists and an inadequate number of COVID-19 vaccinations already plague New York and states across the nation. Vulnerable New Yorkers face extreme difficulties navigating the systems to get vaccines, and many feel their health questions about the vaccines have not been answered. Many VOCAL-NY constituents are at heightened risk of contracting COVID-19 - and experiencing serious health complications - due to chronic health conditions and the underserved communities in which they live. We have always fought to increase access to lifesaving medications, primarily to treat HIV and hepatitis C. We remember the tremendous loss of life our community suffered as we fought for access to those medications. While we continue to provide frontline public health services - and fight for smart public policy - for New Yorkers struggling with drug use, homelessness, chronic illness, and poverty, we launched #VOCALVaccinated to to encourage and support our community to stay well and get the COVID-19 vaccine !
