Dear friend,
We are rapidly losing the world’s pollinators.Bees, butterflies, and bats are vanishing–or, more accurately, being eliminated–across the globe. In the United States, the future of one of the most iconic signs of summer is in serious peril. The western population of monarch butterflies has declined by a staggering 99.9%since the 1980s and is on the verge of collapse.1
Your $3.60 or $36 donation can help reverse that trend.
We can and must act. To save monarch butterflies, native bees, and other pollinator species we must stop habitat loss and the destruction of plants that they rely on. The loss of milkweed and other plants that native bees and other pollinators need to live on is a leading threat to the survival of these species.
For the sixth-consecutive year, the Endangered Species Coalition is organizing milkweed and other pollinator-friendly habitat plantings around the United States to save native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. By putting plants in the ground and increasing the availability of habitat and food sources, we are fighting to save these iconic and ecologically-important species.
We are working with farmers, community gardeners, city parks departments, and other locations to plant milkweed and other native plants around the country. Crucially, we are coordinating with local nurseries and seed distributors to assure that only region-specific, native plants go in the ground for pollinators.
This campaign provides needed plants for bees, bats, butterflies, and birds. It also brings new conservationists into the movement. Working with youth groups and schools allows young people to experience the rewards of planting and saving species. Please support our Plants for Pollinators campaign with a donation of $3.60 or any amount today.
Thank you for your commitment to wildlife and wild places.
Sincerely,
Leda Huta.
