Ukraine ((UNHCR) : une situation de crise humanitaire, une URGENCE.

Bonjour,           Je vous écrivais jeudi dernier sur la situation en Ukraine. Je voudrais aujourd’hui vous partager une rapide mise à jour sur la crise actuelle et la réponse du HCR.   Selon les données à disposition, ce sont 500 000 réfugiés qui ont dû fuir l'Ukraine vers les pays voisins, et les chiffres continuent d'augmenter.   Malgré les défis, nos équipes sont sur le terrain et nous mettons tout en œuvre pour répondre aux besoins les plus urgents de la population ukrainienne :   - Nous avons intensifié nos opérations et nos capacités en Ukraine et dans les pays voisins. Nous avons déjà pu distribuer des couvertures et d'autres articles de première nécessité.   - Nous travaillons avec les autorités, les Nations Unies, les communautés déplacées à l'intérieur du pays ainsi que d'autres partenaires en Ukraine, et nous sommes prêts à fournir une assistance humanitaire partout où cela est nécessaire et possible.   - Nous travaillons également avec les gouvernements des pays voisins pour leur demander de laisser les frontières ouvertes aux populations en quête de sécurité et de protection.   - Nous restons résolument engagés à soutenir toutes les populations touchées en Ukraine et dans les pays de la région. Nous ne sommes pas partis. Nous sommes prêts à apporter notre aide !   Nous avons besoin de votre soutien dès maintenant pour apporter une aide d’urgence et protéger les Ukrainiens.

U.S (UltraViolet) : DISNEY, stop funding ANTI-ABORTION POLITICIANS !

 

 

 

Dear friend,

 

 

 

Lawmakers in Florida are on the verge of passing an abortion ban¹ that makes no exceptions for rape or incest brought to you with funding from Disney.²

 

Disney prides itself on being a forward-thinking company and wants you to believe that, too. But while it makes millions in profit off of young girls’ and women’s dreams, its political contributions are funding the decimation of their rights. Disney, it's time your money matches your public statements.

 

 

 

The entertainment giant has spoken against other anti-abortion bills, thanks to public pressure from activists like UltraViolet members.³ Once again, if enough of us band together, we can force the corporate giant to speak out against this bill and remove tens of thousands of dollars from the campaign coffers of anti-abortion lawmakers.

Make no mistake : Disney’s credibility is on the line.

 

In a letter to shareholders, Disney’s CEO, Bob Chapek, claimed that "making a positive difference in our world is part of our DNA as storytellers, and it also guides how we conduct ourselves."⁴ But that could not be further from the truth.

 

During the 2020 election cycle alone, the company donated more than $200,000 to anti-abortion politicians and lawmakers, with more than half of donations going to Florida lawmakers.⁵ Disney needs to be held accountable.

 

 

 

If this Florida bill becomes law, the impacts will be devastating. Already, we are seeing a maternal health crisis in Black and brown communities. And these abortion bans only exacerbate maternal mortality rates.⁶

 

That’s why we have launched a campaign to call out Disney for its complicity in putting pregnant people, including children, at risk.

 

Together, we can force Disney to defend workers and consumers in Florida who deserve to have their rights protected, NOT taken away.
