U.S : End TITLE 42 !!

 

 

 

Republicans and conservative Democrats are holding COVID-19 aid hostage to demand that we keep our borders shut to asylum seekers.  Tell Congress to lift the Trump-era Title 42 migrant expulsion policy now! Trump’s use of Title 42 was hateful and xenophobic in nature. His administration took advantage of a global pandemic to completely shut down our border and bar those seeking asylum. And now, Republicans and conservative Democrats are refusing to pass critical COVID-19 funding until Title 42 remains in place to bar asylum seekers from exercising their basic human right to seek refuge in the United States. More than 1.7 million expulsions of migrants and asylum seekers were carried out as a result of Title 42 from March 2020 to February 2022, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This resulted in thousands being left to endure violence, kidnappings, and rape after being refused asylum and returned to either the countries from which they were fleeing or to dangerous conditions in border towns.
