Friend, each and every day, our communities are being blanketed in toxic smog – and that’s by design. Communities of color suffer from significantly higher rates of asthma and other respiratory diseases because of the environments we live in. A huge component of that is our current highway system and the way that it’s designed to transport goods using trucks that rely on diesel fuels, which often drive through urban communities. Let’s be clear : This is not a necessary evil or unfixable problem. But it does require powerful action from the Environmental Protection Agency, which won’t happen without the consistent advocacy of environmental justice leaders. That’s why our team has put together a new animated video, to lift up this fight & draw attention to the slow poisoning of our communities that will continue until we take action.
