Hi, Bank of America – you know, the one that tells you to have Better Money Habits® – has some really nasty money habits they don’t want you to know about… Bank of America is one of the world’s worst fossil fuel bankers, driving climate catastrophes that are destroying entire communities, violating Indigenous Rights, and causing deadly health impacts around the world. Over the next month, we'll be pulling back the curtain on ALL of Bank of America’s REAL money habits, like pouring $33.7 BILLION into fossil fuel financing last year alone. How is that “better” for any of us ? The only thing worse ? Bank of America has started rolling back their own climate commitments and policies, and are now the ONLY major Wall Street bank without any meaningful policies to restrict financing for new Arctic drilling, thermal coal mining, and coal-fired power plants. Meanwhile, they continue to spend thousands on marketing and hide behind greenwashing and corporate lies that they’re taking responsible steps for our future or supporting people in meaningful ways. Even still, they committed $14.7 billion to companies behind fossil fuel EXPANSION last year alone. That means they’re literally giving these companies the fuel to continue to expand or break ground on NEW fossil fuel activities that will be detrimental to us all. And by dropping their own climate policies, Bank of America is proving that we can’t trust their empty promises — so we need to see some ACTION. Because they’re letting their fossil fuel clients set their money and our entire world on fire. How does that make any business sense ? These execs think they won’t be touched by climate chaos, but they’re wrong. There are no take-backs when health, ecosystems, communities and our shared climate are at stake !
