That includes organizations working to increase access to contraception, preventing and treating HIV/AIDS, combating malaria, and improving maternal and child health. They were forbidden from providing any information, referrals, or services related to legal abortion.    If these organizations received health assistance, they were barred from even advocating for abortion services, with their own money, in their own countries.    Even though the Biden Administration repealed the global gag rule just days after assuming office, women and girls abroad are still in danger of having their rights and health care torn away from them yet again. Any future administration could restart this horrific global gag rule with a simple signature.
