Thursday, July 15 @ 4 PM: PLU Social trip to MOMA PS1 : MOMA-PS1 is currently showcasing "Gregg Bordowitz : I Wanna Be Well" - an exhibition on personal and singular record of Greg Bordowitz who has been living with HIV for more than half of his adult life. He has been working with New York’s ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power), and this exhibition surveys 30 years of his practice alongside other activists. Let’s all go together, learn and support the exhibition ! This will be a great way for us to build community, understand more about the AIDS epidemic, and connect with other organizers and members ! Week In Review

This past week, the Associated Press called the winner of New York City’s Mayoral Democratic Primary, declaring Eric Adams Democratic nominee for the city’s next mayor. In VOCAL-NY’s Caring and Compassionate Mayoral Forum in March, Eric Adams went the furthest in response to a question about implementing Overdose Prevention Centers (OPCs), expressing support for wrap around services in addition to the life-saving programs. Implementing OPCs is a critical first step towards VOCAL-NY’s Caring and Compassionate New Deal, which would defund courts, law enforcement, and jails, and invest in critical social services.
